The Rev. Heather Lynn Hanson

Heather Lynn HansonThe Rev. Heather Lynn Hanson came to Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Church in August 2010. Bringing her years of experience assisting UU congregations in transition, she will serve as our interim minister for the 2010-11 church year, while the congregation determines it direction for the future.

“Religion is really about recognizing and celebrating our connections with the universe, with people around us, and with the spirit of life, creative love, ultimate presence, ― however one may name it.

“Religious ceremonies, worship and education remind us of the worth of our deep connections, while honoring our separate life journeys and individual gifts. The Unitarian Universalist faith is built on a thoughtful and respectful attitude toward others.  A transforming faith builds bridges, not walls. It inspires us to learn more, to serve others, to express our gratitude for all that is our life, and to choose ethical and compassionate ways of being in the world, both individually and in community.

“I invite visitors and guests to sample our services and our programs, and
to realize the rich variety of opportunities here.
We ask not what you believe; only that you believe thoughtfully.
What you hear must be tested in your mind, in your heart, and in your living.

We hope you will discover that this religious community offers you
the spiritual inspiration,
the caring support and warm friendships,
the experiences, both meaningful and joyful,
to heal and enrich your life.
Welcome!”
