Rev. Amanda Aikman, Minister Affiliated
The Rev. Amanda Aikman is, first, a very good friend of the Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Church, and secondly, immensely proud to be Minister Affiliated here! She has served as a parish and consulting minister in this area since 1994, and has been a certified spiritual director since 2006. She offers this gentle, nonjudgmental listening practice on a sliding-fee scale to members, friends, and friends of friends of the church. For more information on spiritual direction (also called spiritual companioning), please see Amanda's web page, www.revamanda.com. She also preaches and teaches at SUUC as time permits. Amanda also serves our Mount Vernon, WA congregation as Consulting Minister.
Susan Morrisson, Intern Minister
Susan Morrisson is serving Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Church as an intern minister for two years. Following her classroom education at the School of Theology and Ministry, Seattle University, she now has the opportunity to put her commitments into practice. Beliefs, doubts, certainties, and questions change during our lifetime as we encounter new experiences and try to make sense of them.
Her first experience of ministry was as wife and mother to four children. She now has four grandchildren, which challenges and inspires her.
Her next ministry was in the context of public education, advancing the learning for children with special needs.
Susan believes in the power of connecting to people in ways which affirm their worth and dignity. She takes seriously the covenant to affirm and promote the interdependent web of relationships, which includes all of life. To celebrate creation is to engage what is of highest value.
