Many Ways to Donate
Has our church been important in your life? Have you wondered how you could contribute to the church in other ways besides your annual pledge? Many congregants have left donations to the church as part of their estate plan. These donations are a big part of what has allowed us to build our buildings, grow our endowment funds, and maintain adequate financial reserves.
There are ways to pay your annual pledge that may give you tax benefits. For example, you may be able to use a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to have your annual pledge paid directly from your qualified retirement account to the church. Below is some guidance on how to do that. Please talk to your financial advisor, or to the Shoreline UU's Vice-President of Finance for more information on how to do this. A few options are below.
Beneficiary Gifts for Retirement Plans (aka QCDs) & Bank Accounts
Naming Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Church as a beneficiary is a simple way to support the life changing work of SUUC without updating your will. Contact your plan administrator or financial institution for a change of beneficiary form. On the beneficiary form, decide what percentage, up to 100%, you would like SUUC to receive.
