Saturday, May 11, at 7:00 pm: A Journey Through Time & Nigeria
Novelist and SUUC member Susan Storer Clark will talk about the inspiration for her current novel-in-progress, her years of research, and her two journeys to Nigeria. The journey through time takes us to the 1570s, when the African slave trade was beginning: a young Yoruba woman is captured into slavery and is swept up into one of the most famous voyages from the Age of Exploration. Susan will share adventures from her two trips to Nigeria, one as a reporter for the Voice of America and one just for her research, complete with some unusual and colorful pictures, and readings from her book. Drinks and snacks will be available, including wine and some West African goodies. Please RSVP through this link on Eventbrite so we’ll have enough refreshments for everyone to enjoy. This is a fundraiser for SUUC; tickets/RSVPs are $25.

Second Tuesdays at 7:00 pm: Board Meetings
All are invited to observe the meetings of the Board of Trustees. Board meetings are an excellent way to "find out what is going on around here." Current exciting topics include the new buildings going up around the neighborhood. The Zoom link is located on the Church calendar in the scheduled event. |
